REI wins contract to provide technical assistance, IT development relating to SBIR/STTR
Sterling, Va. – 11 October 2016 – REI Systems (REI) announced today that it is part of the winning team on the recompete contract for the Small Business Administration Office of Investment and Innovation (SBA-OII) to provide technical assistance, programmatic support, outreach, training and IT development relating to the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. REI is partnered with Dawnbreaker (prime) and Innovation Ecologies to support improved program monitoring and reporting of inputs, program management, and outcomes of SBA-OII.
This $25M, 5-year contract renews SBA’s contract with REI to manage SBIR.gov. Tasks under this contract include technical assistance with reporting, monitoring, and analysis of program compliance; development of training modules and a web-based learning system; continued IT buildout, enhancements, and maintenance of SBIR.gov; and outreach and communications support. This contract responds to Congress’ request for agencies to ensure that underserved populations are better addressed by SBIR and STTR.
‘I’m so proud of our team at REI for what we’ve done with SBIR so far, and I’m looking forward to working with Dawnbreaker and Innovation Ecologies,’ said Tom Fazio, Senior Director of Science and Technology at REI. ‘The mission of this work goes back to the people, and that’s really important. We want to give everyone a fair chance, and contributing to the improvement of SBIR and STTR really feels like we’ve got a hand in that.’
REI’s experience in grants management stems as far back as 1992, when REI developed the grants management system for the NASA SBIR Program Office. In addition to SBA and NASA, REI’s government clients for grants and contracts management include FEMA, HRSA, DOJ, DOE, and DHS.
