Sterling, VA – October 14, 2014 – REI Systems (REI) announced today it has supported the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) launch of its FDA Data Dashboard, a solution that will allow the FDA to visualize data from different sources and to easily consolidate, manage, and analyze its data to support the agency’s transparency initiatives. The FDA Data Dashboard is a customized cloud-based tool that will provide the public with transparency into the FDA’s contributions to public health and safety in the areas of inspections, recalls, compliance, and enforcement actions.

On January 21, 2009, President Obama issued the Memorandum on Transparency and Open Government instructing agencies to take specific actions to implement the principles of transparency, participation, and collaboration. FDA Commissioner, Margaret Hamburg, stated that “We will hold ourselves to the highest standards of transparency and accountability and give our partners and stakeholders insight into our processes and decision making.”

The FDA Dashboard data visualization tool will strengthen FDA’s collaborations with other public health agencies and leverage the expertise and resources of its partners at the international, federal, state, and local levels to ensure the exchange of timely data for the purpose of effective solutions for public health and safety.
