What can government learn from commercial sites such as Netflix, Ebay, and Amazon? On November 27th, REI Systems’ Solutions Architect Sanjeev Pulapaka and Enterprise Architect Srikanth Devarajan provide their perspective in their article “What the Government Can Learn from Netflix” published on NextGov. While the government and these commercial sites both feature search bars, which allow users to mine site content easily based on their personal wants, commercial sites have taken the next step in improving customer experience by also introducing recommendation engines. Pulapaka and Devarajan explain how recommendation engines differ from search engines and offer examples for how government agencies can make use of this powerful feature.
