REI Systems’ Director of Contracts Kevin White, Business Development Director Gissa Sateri, and Solution Architect Pawin Chawanasunthornpot published an article in Federal News Radio. The piece, titled “Agile acquisition: Why it makes sense to plan from future backward,” talks about how the government can implement better acquisition practices that still work within regulations but yield much better results. The approach of “reverse planning” acquisition involves envisioning the outcomes of a system and then using collaborative methods to define the tasks needed. Many government agencies have already started promoting innovative changes within their acquisition processes, including the U.S. Digital Service and DHS’ Procurement Innovation Lab.
