Sterling, Va. – February 6, 2017 – REI Systems (REI) received high praise following the successful implementation of GovGrants® at the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS). LCTCS staff spoke about their agency’s success with GovGrants – a cloud-based grants management solution built by REI on the Salesforce platform – during a webinar titled “Drive Better Mission Outcomes; The Next Generation of Grants Management Solutions.”

As part of its mandate, LCTCS manages all of the 13 public 2-year institutions in the State of Louisiana. In order to fund the operations and program-specific elements of these institutions, LCTCS manages several grant programs including Adult Education and the Perkins Technical and Vocational Program. In order to move its grants management practices forward, LCTCS contracted with REI to implement its cloud-based grants management solution in early 2016.

REI successfully deployed GovGrants in June 2016. Prior to GovGrants being used as the de facto grants system, LCTCS’s grants processes were largely manual, which led to a number of operational and management challenges. Prior to having a system in place, LCTCS staff took four to five hours to review and evaluate a single grantee’s application given the onerous nature of paper-based forms. In addition, because the application review itself was manually recorded, many of the records did not reconcile at time of year-end audit. Since adopting GovGrants, LCTCS’ manual data entry and errors have been substantially reduced, and application review time has been cut by more 50%.

Gerald Paul Mayeaux, Associate Director of Fiscal Affairs at LCTCS, praised GovGrants for simplifying and improving LCTCS’ processes and improving relationships with grant recipients. “[GovGrants] just goes above and beyond that because it pulls everything into one place,” Mayeaux said. “We wouldn’t be able to do what we’re doing now without this system.”

GovGrants is REI’s grants management solution built on the Salesforce platform. With GovGrants, grant-making and grant-receiving agencies are able to see improved grant performance in a matter of months rather than years. GovGrants has also been successfully implemented at the DC Department of Health, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), City of San Diego, and is currently being deployed for a number of other state governments.
