Wagish Bhartiya

Chief Growth Officer

As Chief Growth Officer, Wagish oversees Business Development and Marketing/Communications at REI Systems.

Wagish thinks big and executes faster. He loves being able to tackle big, impactful problems that touch millions of people – something he does every day in his current role.  Wagish leads his team by being a crusader for mission impact, an explorer for opportunities, and a builder of solutions for both REI Systems and its clients.

Wagish has spent most of his 15+ year career at the intersection of strategy, high-tech solutions, and client service. With more than a decade of experience in corporate strategy, Wagish’s expertise lies in bringing new technologies to market and gaining market share in highly competitive, innovation-driven markets. Prior to joining REI Systems, Wagish honed his skills at tech companies like Amazon and LivingSocial, where he led sales and marketing strategy development.  He also spent time at global consultancy, McKinsey & Company, in their high-tech practice with a focus on sales and marketing related issues.

Prior to REI Systems, Wagish was an early stage investor in mobile innovations, cutting-edge enterprise software, and consumer technology startups with Grotech Ventures, a leading venture capital firm in the Washington, D.C. area. Since joining REI Systems in 2012, his focus has been on leveraging innovations in technology to redefine how the U.S. Government serves its citizens.

Born in New Delhi, India and raised in northern Virginia, Wagish showed interest in the possibilities borne of technology from a young age. He attended the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology before attending Duke University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in economics. He then pursued an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and graduated in the top five percent of his class. Throughout his academic and professional career, Wagish is most proud of his ability to distill complexity into easily digestible messages.

Wagish remains an active member of Duke University’s recruiting base and is also a member of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship. He is an avid reader of books (and has a goal of reading 50 books each year) about pop psychology, behavioral economics, business, and futurism. He describes himself as passionate and dedicated, which shows in his long-standing support as a “suffering” Washington, D.C. sports fan. He lives in Vienna with his wife, Resmi, and their three sons.
